THE Concept
From the outset, I wanted the reunion to feel like a true event rather than a traditional high school gathering. My vision was to create an experience that people would genuinely be excited to attend, with a vibrant atmosphere, engaging activities, and opportunities to reconnect. I wanted to celebrate how much we'd all grown and changed since graduation, while creating new memories together. This vision influenced every aspect of the event, from the visual identity and tone of voice to the venue, entertainment, and overall experience.

THE process
To bring the concept to life, I organized the planning process around three key areas: developing a cohesive visual identity, building excitement and engaging graduates, and coordinating the event's logistics. Each played an important role in shaping the overall experience.
1 / visual identity
I wanted the visual identity to feel modern, energetic and connected to our shared high school experience. Our school mascot was a horse, and I explored ways to incorporate that, as well as other familiar elements of our school identity into a more contemporary design. Since our school’s navy and gold palette felt too traditional for the creative direction I envisioned, I pivoted slightly, using bright periwinkle and neon yellow to create a more vibrant, bold direction.
For the event's name and tone of voice, I developed the concept "Still in Motion" — a reflection of how we've continued to grow and evolve since graduation, each in our own way. This idea also influenced one of the shirt designs that includes a flower, symbolizing growth, strength, and new beginnings.

2 / marketing & communication
With a graduating class spread across different cities, reconnecting with everyone and building excitement around the reunion was a major part of the project. I created private Facebook and Instagram groups to reach graduates, share updates, and bring a sense of anticipation to the event. I also connected with former classmates who had strong social networks to help spread the word and expand our reach.
To ensure the event reflected what people actually wanted, I also developed multiple Google Forms to collect information on attendance, preferred dates, venue expectations, and activity suggestions. This feedback helped guide key planning decisions while giving my fellow graduates a sense of involvement in shaping the experience, whcih was really important to me.

3 / logistics & event planning
Once I had gathered feedback from graduates, I was able to narrow down the date, location and overall event format. I researched and contacted several venues before selecting Riverside St-Henri in Montreal, a modern urban event space that offered a semi-private outdoor area, food trucks, lawn games, and DJ.
The venue aligned perfectly with the atmosphere I had envisioned, offering a balance of social activities, entertainment and space for people to reconnect. From vendor communication to coordinating the different elements of the event, I focused on ensuring that the logistical decisions supported the overall creative vision.

THE outcome
Bringing this reunion to life allowed me to combine my interests in creative direction, event planning, and community engagement into one project. From developing the visual identity to coordinating the logistics and connecting with old friends, I had the opportunity to see an idea evolve into a complete event experience.
Due to some factors outside of my control, the event has been rescheduled to later this fall and I am so excited to see it pan out. I have received so many messages from my classmates stating their excitment for the event and gratitude towards me for organizing everything.
